Top 100 Children's Books

I spotted this fun list over at Hope is the Word and decided to play along. : ) According to Amy, credit for this list and the meme goes here: It seems that Betsy, who blogs for School Library Journal  (no small beans!) at A Fuse #8 Production conducted a poll to find out readers’ opinions of the top 100 children’s novels.  Next, Teacherninja turned it into a meme, and I just couldn’t resist.

Like Amy, I’m putting the ones I’ve read in bold, and if I’ve posted anything about them here on my blog, I’m linking my reviews/comments/thoughts up in parentheses. I can already see I have a good library (or blogging) list to start working my way through! : ) If there is a red asterisk beside it, that means I own it, but it's sitting on the shelf unread.

  1. I'll bet your girls would like Because of Winn Dixie, Stephanie! (There is a reference to alcoholism, so be forewarned if this concerns you.) My girls listened to the audiobook and got a kick out of it. You'd like it, too!

You MUST read Where the Red Fern Grows, even if you don't like dogs. It's required. :-)

Some of my other favorites that you haven't read The Witch of Blackbird Pond, both of the Christopher Paul Curtis titles, and From the Mixed-Up Files. Oh, and Maniac Magee!

    This is fun, isn't it?
