2011 Week in the Life // Looking Back

I pulled out my 2011 Week in the Life pages this morning and had a quick look through them. There was a lot of life captured on these pages!

Details: I used baseball page protectors for my pages. Will I do this again? Probably not. I wasn’t paying attention and didn’t realize that these squares are a little less than 1/2 of a 4x6 photo AND I had thought I would be able to us 3x4 Project Life cards in the slots. Not so. I ended up doing a LOT of extra trimming and cropping to get everything to fit. The collage-look to the pages, I love.

You can click the pictures to see them bigger in Flickr. A few things are blurred out … there was one picture of N1 that she didn’t like and asked me to hide. : )

Looking at this gets me excited about next week and Week in the Life. So many daily snippets here that I would think to capture, even with trying to take a picture a day with Project Life. While I love my camera phone, I’m also excited to pick up my big camera a bit more next week and doing some playing with it. It’s not practical for me a lot of the time because it’s hard to lug around, but I miss it.

My post from previous Week in the Life’s that I’ve participated in are here.

  1. Okay, you're making me want to do this! Question: what ARE you going to use instead of the baseba card pages?

    1. Well, this is my plan right now … and it may change. : )

I’m going to use the free download from Ali’s blog to keep notes on our day. Then, I’m either going to just stick those in a page projector in my album OR retype them in bullet form in word. Something easy. Not worry about crafting great narratives of our day, but just sticking to facts. : )

Then for the pictures, I’m leaning towards simple. Probably going to use some of the 4x6 collage templates that I have (and that I’ve used for PL) and put them in one of these protectors. (http://www.amazon.com/American-Crafts-12-Inch-Horizontal-Protectors/dp/B002E3GRK8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1334923443&sr=8-4) I’m leaning towards cutting them in half so I would have 3 4x6 collages for each day – use the front for one day and the back for the next. (Or maybe use the whole thing for one day – front and back – but that just seems like a lot of pictures).

The templates I have are these: http://www.the-lilypad.com/store/product.php?productid=7005&cat=0&page=2. I also have these 5x7 templates: http://crystalwilkerson.com/digital/index.php/templates/5x7-templates-set-no-1.html and http://crystalwilkerson.com/digital/index.php/templates/5x7-templates-set-no-2.html that could be adjusted to 4x6.

I’m pretty sure I’m NOT going to do a separate album, but just leave it in my regular PL album as an in-depth look at our week. We’ll see. I’m trying to figure out how I can use what I have, that’s for sure. : )

Clear as mud? : ) Hopefully that made sense!

I'm curious what format you're going to use too. This is my first time doing week in the life, though I used Ali's 2010 template to do our honeymoon week photos day by day and loved how that worked out. I'm going to put 6x12 page protectors with journaling in between each of the daily layout pages.

    1. Sent you an email Deonne - but it's basically the same thing I told Amy above! : )
