What We've Been Reading in January 2012
Benjamin Franklin by Ingri and Edgar d'Auliere. (Mentioned this one yesterday).
A Picture Book of Benjamin Franklin by David Adler. (Love is picture book biographies)
Mr. Popper's Penguins by Richard and Florence Atwater. This was actually from N1's winter reading list, but I read a couple of the first chapters aloud to her to give her a jump start. (She finished it yesterday).
Winter Days in the Big Woods
Ox-Cart Man by Donald Hall and Caps for Sale by Esphyr Slobodkina
Our current chapter book: The Long Winter.
No big reviews today, but just a small smattering of what we've read aloud recently.
Linking up with Read Aloud Thursday this week.

Love your pictorial RAT! Did N1 love Mr. Popper's Penguins? It is funny! It used to be in constant rotation on audio around here.
ReplyDeleteShe begrudgingly admitted that it was pretty good. : ) She’s moved on to Hugo Cabret and I’ve been watching her enjoy that one which I knew she would because of the amazing pictures. I’ll have to remember to look for the MPP on audio (or reserve it). We could use some fresh audio around here. : )
DeleteI think it's time I read Mr. Popper's Penguins with my kids. I have a nice hardcover sitting on the shelf waiting to be read!
ReplyDeleteI think we have every one of those books at our house. We've not read them all aloud. Looks like good reading!
